The GD5179-865 fixture incorporates an upper coupling adaptor, tensile restraining device, and an aluminum stud for direct tensile testing of adhesives. The aluminum stud is made the dimensions and described in the standard. The top half of the upper coupling adaptor is attached to the load cell and the other end grips the head of the aluminum stud. The restraining device is used as the lower coupling adaptor.
