Tissue adhesives are used in applications such as bandages, surgical sealants, secondary dressings, and wound closure. In wound closure applications, the substrate may be a soft tissue which is tested for development and characterization testing. If the tissue adhesive is not strong enough, the end product may cause infection or poor healing. If the tissue adhesive is too strong, the underlying tissue may be damaged.
