Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) is known as bone cement. Originally used to anchor orthopaedic prostheses in bone, applications have expanded to including anchoring artificial joints and for injection material in vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty procedures. Bone cement applications are subjected to static and dynamic compression, bending, and shear forces. Fatigue tests are commonly fully reversed loading at different stress loading levels.
