Metallic Materials Tensile Testing
The tensile testing of metallic materials may be performed using the test procedures specified in ASTM E8. These procedures may be used to determine the yield strength, yield point elongation, tensile strength, elongation, and reduction of area of metallic specimens in any shape at room temperature. The standard defines the proper grips to be used with the different physical shapes of the specimens.
