ASTM C 1360 (C-1360) determines the constant-amplitude, axial tension-tension cyclic fatigue behavior and performance of continuous fiber-reinforced ceramic composites (CFCCs) at ambient temperatures. This practice builds on experience and existing standards in tensile testing continuous fiber-reinforced ceramic composites at ambient temperatures and addresses various suggested test specimen geometries, specimen fabrication methods, testing modes (force, displacement, or strain control), testing rates and frequencies, allowable bending, and procedures for data collection and reporting.
Universal Tensile test machines may be used for determining proportional limit stress, ultimate strength or other “static” material properties. Cyclic fatigue testing machines include servohydraulic and electrodynamic test machines and shall conform to Practice E467. By means of our testing expertise and modular product design, we will help find the solution that is right for you.
