The ASTM D5026 standard characterizes the the visco-elastic properties of thermoplastic and thermosetting resins and composite systems in the form of rectangular specimen. The specimens may be directly cut from sheets, molded shapes or plates. The data generated using tension testing techniques may be used to assess the elastic modulus with respect to different temperatures, frequencies and time. The test also specifies how to measure the loss moduli or Tan Delta to compare insulation properties of the plastics. The ASTM D5026 standard is technically equivalent to ISO 6721, Part 4.
