The ASTM D5279 (D-5279) standard determines methods to use dynamic mechanical instrumentation for obtaining and documenting the viscoelastic properties of thermoplastic and thermosetting resins and composite systems. The test specimens are thin rectangular specimen molded directly or cut from plates, sheets, or molded shapes. The torsional data found by using ASTM D5279 is used to identify the thermomechanical properties of plastic materials and compositions. Dynamic torsion testing data is used to determine the shear modulus of plastic.
TestResources builds modular testing machines for many testing applications including ASTM D5279. Along with torsion test machines we have temperature chambers, grips, fixtures, extensometers and load cells to improve the performance of the testing system.
By means of our testing expertise and modular product design, we will help find the solution that is right for you. Give our test engineers a call today for help configuring the best test machine and accessories according to your standard.
