The ASTM D7078 / D7078M standard describes the testing of a high-modulus fiber-reinforced composite material in the form of a V-notched specimen gripped between two loading rails. As the loading rails pull apart shearing occurs near the notch due to stress concentrations. The material fibers covered by this test are laminates with: uniformly oriented continuous fibers, woven fibers or short randomly oriented fibers.

By means of our composite testing expertise and modular product design, we will help find the testing solution that is right for you. Give one of our application engineers a call today for help with creating the best budget and testing plan according to ASTM D7078.
