ASTM F152 covers tensile strength of nonmetallic gasketing materials at room temperature. The types of materials covered are those containing asbestos and other inorganic fibers (Type 1), cork (Type 2), cellulose or other organic fiber (Type 3), and flexible graphite (Type 5) as described in Classification F 104. ASTM F152 is not applicable to the testing of vulcanized rubber, a method for which is described in Test Methods D 412 nor for rubber O-rings, a method for which is described in Test Methods D 1414.

Low force tabletop systems
Modular series of five frame options with adjustable test space
Affordable testing option for tension, compression, bend, peel and much more
Forces up to 5 kN (1,125 lbf)
Low force tabletop systems
Tests at speeds up to 2,500 mm/min (100 in/min)
Best for high travel or high elongation test requirements
Force range of 5 kN to 600 kN (1,125 lbf to 135,000 lbf)
Adjustable test space
The most popular choice for static tension and compression tests
These dual column testers are available in both tabletop and floor standing models
Recommended Testing Accessories
Load ratings of 20 kN and 50 kN (4,500 lbf and 11,250 lbf)
Maximum specimen thickness of 16 mm (0.63 in)
Self-tightening design resists slippage of the specimen
Fast and easy specimen setup
Load ratings from 20 kN to 250 kN (4,500 lbf to 55,000 lbf)
Works well with round or flat specimens
