ISO 10059 specifies a method for the determination of the cold compressive strength of dense shaped refractory products. A test piece of known dimensions is subjected to an increasing compressive load until it fails, i.e., when it cannot support a further increase in load. ISO 10059 consists of two parts:
ISO 10059-1 Determination of cold compressive strength - Referee test without packing
ISO 10059-1 Specifies the principle, the apparatus, the test pieces, the test procedure, the expression of results and the test report.
ISO 10059-2 Determination of cold compressive strength - Test with packing
ISO 10059-2 specifies a method for the determination of the cold compressive strength of dense shaped refractory products as an alternative to that described in ISO 10059-1.
ISO 10059 requires an electromechanical universal test machine capable of increasing the stress rate at 1.0 +- 0.1 MPa/s, until the test piece is unable to support the load. Recommended Test Machine
Force range of 5 kN to 600 kN (1,125 lbf to 135,000 lbf)
Adjustable test space
The most popular choice for static tension and compression tests
These dual column testers are available in both tabletop and floor standing models
