ISO 6259 test standard is a tensile test method to determine the tensile properties of polyolefin and thermoplastic pipes. In particular, the test specifies stress at yield point and elongation at break. This test standard is split into three of the following different methods:
ISO 6259-1 Tensile Test for Thermoplastic Pipes
This test method is the most common, general method of the three.
ISO 6259-2 Tensile Test of Thermoplastic Pipes
This method is for pipes made of unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U), chlorinated poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC-C) and high-impact poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC-HI).
ISO 6259-3 Tensile Test of Polyolefin Thermoplastic Pipes
This method is reserved for polyolefin pipe samples.
