ISO 7622-1 Tensile Elongation of Steel Cord Conveyor Belts
ISO 7622-1 specifies a method for the determination of the elongation of steel cords constituting the carcase of conveyor belts, when subjected to a force corresponding to 10 % and to 60 % of the specified tensile strength. Applies exclusively to conveyor belts with a steel carcase.
ISO 7622-2 Longitudinal Traction Test on Steel Cord Conveyer Belts
ISO 7622-2 specifies a method for the determination of the tensile strength, in the longitudinal direction, of conveyor belts with a stell carcass. It applies exclusively to conveyor belts with a steel carcass.
Equipment Required
For ISO 7622-1, use a universal tensile testing machine capable of maintaining a constant test speed of 25 +- 5 mm/min. For ISO 7622-2, use a Universal tensile testing machine, complying with the following requirements: the force exerted by the machine shall be adaptable to the strength of the test specimen. The testing machine capacity shall be such that the maximum testing load is 15 to 85 % of the capacity of the machine; the rate of separation of the jaws shall be capable of being set at 100 +- 10 mm/min and shall be capable of being maintained constant.

Recommended Test Machine
Forces up to 5 kN (1,125 lbf)
Low force tabletop systems
Tests at speeds up to 2,500 mm/min (100 in/min)
Best for high travel or high elongation test requirements
Force range of 5 kN to 600 kN (1,125 lbf to 135,000 lbf)
Adjustable test space
The most popular choice for static tension and compression tests
These dual column testers are available in both tabletop and floor standing models
