Mechanical load controlled fatigue tests of rubber and elastomer based materials or components require servocontrolled fatigue test equipment. Fatigue testing results in crack nucleation and crack growth due to sinusoidal controlled loads. When testing multiple test samples with a single actuator, the test machine is operated in position control. Load response of each sample to the actuators displacement program can be measured with discrete individual load cells mounted in the load train of each sample. The system shown is configured to test four test samples simultaneously using position or displacement control. Rubber and elastomers are viscoelastic by nature, and the test system is capable of high accuracy load and strain measurements at speeds to 15 hz. TestResources offers several systems that are faster yet.
