IPC-TM-650.2.4.8.1 tests determine the peel strength of metal foil that is attached to thin laminates such as printed circuit boards. In this test, a long enough chain is used so that the moving peel line creates a small angle change from the original angle. The chain connects the vice grip and peel tab to the actuator. The base-plate is clamped to the base of the test machine with one of our vice grips and the test specimen is clamped between the base-plate and upper fixture.
